Types of NZAMR Membership

Full Member

To be eligible for Full Membership, a corporate entity or individual operating as a company or sole trader must:

• be a Licensed Second Hand Dealer;
• either derive a major part of its revenue from, or be regularly engaged in, buying (other than for personal use and enjoyment or as a gift), selling, exchanging or otherwise dealing in scrap metal; and
• be resident in New Zealand

Only full members have voting rights to direct the work and focus of the Association.

Branch Member

It is expected that some Full members will operate their business from multiple sites under the same trading name or corporate structure as the Full Member. In the event that the Full Member directly or indirectly owns, controls or operates a site under the same trading name as the Full Member, the Full Member must register the additional site as a Branch Member.

Branch member details should be specified on the membership application when applying as a Full Member.

Associate Members

To be eligible for Associate Membership, a person or corporate entity must have an affiliation with the metals recycling industry such as an industry supplier or trading customer of recycled metals and be resident in New Zealand.

International Member

To be eligible for International Membership a person or corporate entity must have an affiliation with the metals recycling industry and be resident outside of New Zealand.

Individual Membership

The Individual membership category was established to recognise individuals who may wish to retain links with the metal recycling industry and who support the objectives of the Association. To be eligible for Individual Membership a person must:

• have an interest in the metals recycling industry; and
• not derive a major part of their revenue from, or be regularly engaged in, buying (other than for personal use and enjoyment or as a gift), selling, exchanging or otherwise dealing in scrap metal.
